There is a legend in the area of Lan Hin Pum that the villagers say. The appearance of the button stone was caused by the traces of the Naga that fought between Sunonak and Nantanak in order to compete for the giant catfish from Indra. The battle lasted for 7 years. Finally, Sutonak was victorious and made his asceticism at Phu Pha Phueng Cave, and it is currently called Phraya Nak Cave. After the asceticism was completed, he flew to receive the catfish from Indra in heaven and brought it back to be released into the Mekong River. Therefore, the Mekong River is the only river in the world with catfish which Sutonak is the creator of the Mekong River Then Nanthanak was the creator of the Nan River later. Lan Hin Pum is also a viewpoint at Phu Noi and a very beautiful sunset viewpoint.
